About The Vend

Started in a garage circa 2020, The Vend began as a small Instagram side hustle fueled by a love for secondhand fashion and thoughtful curation. What started as a passion project quickly grew into something more. Fast forward five years, and The Vend is proud to call two brick-and-mortar consignment shops home in Victoria, BC: The Collective and Slowly!

Founded by Tawnee Popil, born and raised on Vancouver Island, The Vend was created with a clear vision — to offer a more curated, boutique-style shopping experience that’s often missing in the secondhand world. Every piece is chosen with intention, focusing on quality, style, and longevity, so shopping secondhand feels just as inspiring as buying new (if not more).

At its core, The Vend is about slowing down fashion, supporting circular style, and creating spaces — both online and in-store — where secondhand shopping feels elevated, accessible, and fun.
